Cloud Backup for M365

AvePoint has made significant enhancements that increase backup visibility, improve data management and enhance security. This enables organizations to manage Microsoft 365 data even more efficiently and flexibly.

New is the ability to configure Google Cloud Storage as a Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) option with built-in validations to ensure secure and accurate data storage.

Cloud Backup Express now offers more detailed job metrics, including start time, end time and duration information for Express Recovery Points.

A refreshed interface and updated email notifications help users quickly distinguish between harmless unusual activity and potentially malicious suspicious files, enabling a faster and more effective response.

With enhanced removal capabilities, AvePoint offers even more flexibility in data management. Users can now search for and delete files from both private and shared channels, as well as delete entire folders in teams and group sites.

When restoring Exchange Online mailboxes, an option to sort items (e.g., “oldest first”) is available for more precise and efficient recovery.

Cloud Backup for D365

A new advanced alert feature allows users and administrators to monitor changes to records in real time. Configurable both at the record level and across the organization, it sends email alerts when any entity is added, deleted or modified beyond a set acceptance threshold. This allows administrators and designated recipients to respond immediately to data loss or unexpected changes, eliminating the risk of delays in detecting problems.

Cloud Backup for Saleforce

Cloud Backup for Salesforce introduces greater security, flexibility and control. New application access restrictions ensure that end users see only those records for which they have permission, enhancing security and user experience.

A data export scheduler feature enables automatic export of audit logs for easier control and reporting. Improved Salesforce backup offers filtering options and support for Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL), which speeds up searches for specific records.

In addition, the ability to restore archived records ensures a smoother and more efficient archiving process. All these enhancements make Cloud Backup for Salesforce an even more secure, efficient and user-friendly tool for managing and protecting critical data.

Cloud Backup for Google Workspace

A new public API for backup monitoring enables organizations to track Google backup jobs directly through the public API, increasing visibility and control over backup processes.

The introduced zero-trust control for Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) adds an additional layer of security through secondary administrator approval, which is especially important when processing sensitive data.

These innovations make Cloud Backup for Google Workspace a more secure, efficient and customized solution.

Cloud Backup for IaaS + PaaS

Azure AD B2C gains support for backing up and restoring users, generating subscription reports and managing account settings.

A new Entra ID-compliant licensing model simplifies the process of managing access and permissions.

In addition, a backup feature for Azure SQL is now fully available, which offers comprehensive database protection, providing organizations with complete security for data stored in the cloud.

In the latest release, AvePoint introduces support for Azure DevOps Pipeline, integrating Azure Repos Git Pipeline components to better align the platform with development team workflows.

Improved backup of Azure virtual machines (VMs) is another major change. With the new approach, the need for full backups every three months has been eliminated. Now weekly retention automatically combines incremental copies, making the process more efficient and cost-effective.

Expanding regional support

AvePoint is expanding its global reach, adding support for the New Zealand North (Auckland) and Qatar Central (Doha) regions. As a result, organizations in these areas can count on full data protection with AvePoint backups.

Better VM backup reporting

Virtual machine (VM) backup reports now include detailed information, including VM names, making it easier to manage data and control backup processes.

A notification profile will also soon be introduced to improve report management, allowing administrators to respond more quickly to changes in the backup environment.

Cloud Governance & MyHub

A new version of MyHub is now generally available, offering improved content management, governance and better security insights. Users can now:

  • effectively manage OneDrive content,
  • view deletion requests,
  • respond to high-risk data threats in their workspaces.

Administrators have the option to enable the new interface in Cloud Governance settings, allowing for a smooth transition and testing of the features before full deployment.

The latest MyHub updates introduce advanced governance options:

  • Managing access from external domains – administrators can easily control which domains have access to the collaboration, enhancing security.
  • Customizing library settings – simple and intuitive tools allow quick modification of library parameters.
  • Streamlined site creation – with built-in actions for feature activation, record management and metadata configuration, the site creation process becomes faster and more efficient.

Ability to define library settings yourself

Importing custom user properties as metadata or workflow conditions in Cloud Governance allows administrators to create more flexible and precise rules and processes. The new metadata type strengthens organizational context reporting, providing deeper insights into managed objects and improving data management.

Integration with AvePoint Opus

Integration with AvePoint Opus now enables archiving of entire site collections, allowing for:

  • optimize storage space management,
  • maintain easy access to critical data,
  • streamline storage while protecting critical information.

In addition, Power BI Workspace updates introduce new features such as:

  • escalation options – the ability to remove or replace users in their roles,
  • access restoration – quick recovery of previously lost privileges,
  • activity audit – full control over user activities.

Synchronization of responsible users with Power BI Workspace guarantees active control of role membership, which translates into greater oversight and security.

EnPower and Copilot Studio

AvePoint introduces integration with Copilot Studio, offering organizations even more control over agent management. With advanced features such as:

  • agent discovery,
  • access controls,
  • advanced reporting,

administrators can closely monitor the Copilot Studio deployment process and the effectiveness of the management policies in place. Dashboards and powerful agent management tools will also soon be available to further improve management and process automation.

Manage agents created in Copilot Studio

EnPower is introducing automatic notifications for workspace owners, who can now receive alerts whenever a guest account is added to their space.

Automation of workspace renewal processes triggered by metadata changes provides full control over governance. Even if a metadata value is changed outside the AvePoint Cloud Governance system, the renewal process will be initiated automatically. This allows organizations to keep their workspaces up to date at all times, even when there is an external impact on the data.

EnPower’s new flexible workflows enable automation at an even higher level. Processes can now be triggered based on:

  • user properties,
  • membership types,
  • roles
  • AvePoint product configurations.

Whether you manage SharePoint sites, Power BI workspaces, Teams, or Microsoft 365 Groups, EnPower significantly simplifies management with intelligent automation. The new features allow organizations to optimize processes and minimize manual administrative activities, making the work environment more efficient and secure.

Policies

AvePoint introduces new automation templates and policies that proactively identify and resolve ownerless workspaces. This enables organizations to:

  • avoid liability gaps,
  • minimize regulatory risk,
  • manage M 365 structure with full compliance.

Automated oversight mechanisms make asset management simpler and more efficient, and organizations can maintain order and transparency across the ecosystem.

Insights

AvePoint Insights introduces advanced controls and risk management mechanisms that allow organizations to:

  • anticipate potential risks,
  • assign accountability for actions,
  • inform key individuals of new risks through custom notifications.

Administrators can now quickly view details about at-risk users and take immediate action to minimize risk.
